Five Hives

Robert's five hives taken on October 30, 2008 in Odessa Delaware. Two of the hives were from packages purchased April 2008 and the other 3 hives are combinations from 5 swarms that were caught during 2008, 4 caught in May and one caught in August.
Winter Cluster

Ever wonder exactly where those bees are in winter and what they’re doing? This thermograph shows a cluster within a hive box on a cool day in September. The cluster is in red, generating heat, the hive is mostly yellow. The rectangle on top of the hive is a brick on top of the cover.
